Details: The Primitivo grape is closely related to the Zinfandel of California, so it is hardly surprising that there is a similarity in the wines. Situated in the Heel of Italy, in Puglia, the warm climate suits the Primitivo admirably, which encourages it to produce high quality and sometimes high alcohol. The wine is soft and delicately fruity, with a rich well rounded flavour in the aftertaste. Really good accompaniment to cheese, it can also go well with the dark roasts or rich pasta.
